Sports twitter chats are a great way to increase your knowledge about the industry, connect with others, and build a bigger presence online.
I first stumbled upon my first twitter chat in early 2012 (#SportJC). Since then, I have constantly thrown around the idea of starting my own chat that focused on some aspect of the sports business world.
In the coming weeks, I will be launching #SC360. The chat will be held twice a month. The specific dates and times will depend on the availability of the chat's special guest.
In each hour-long chat, I will be bringing on an influential individual from the sports industry. In the few weeks leading up to each chat, I will be crowd-sourcing twitter for questions to ask the guest in order to make the chat a little bit more organized.
For the first 30 minutes, the chat will follow a more structured Q&A format, with the participant answering roughly 10-15 questions.
For the second 30 minutes of the chat, I will be tossing out 5-10 questions to the entire audience in an effort to generate as much as interaction as possible between the guest and everyone else tuning in. These questions will be focused on the latest trends, topics, and controversies surrounding the sports industry.
The guest on each chat will come from a different niche within sports, with the goal that everyone joining the chat will gain a better understanding of the entire industry as a whole.
